The Meze Alba is a budget IEM selling at around 159€ in Europe. It is one 10.8mm dynamic driver
and comes in 2 boxes. One for the IEMS and another one for the DAC, yes you get a small Usb-C Dac/Amp
with the Alba's which is very nice, you basically only need a phone, tablet or laptop as a source and
you're ready to go.

Along with the IEM's you get a really decent single ended cable with a 2-pin connector, a small
carrying case and a set of ear-tips in 4 sizes. The build quality of the Iems is excellent for the
price, the shell is on the smaller side and there should not be any issues with fit and comfort even
for smaller years, so the overall package you get for the asking price is really nice, the only thing
missing is a balanced option, a supplementary cable with 4.4mm Pentaconn connection would have been
fantastic.

On the technical side the Alba's have an impedance of 32 Ω and a sensitivity of 109 dB making them
very easy to drive, in fact they worked very well with every amplification paired with it, from the
stock dongle dac to other portable and desktop gear no issues at all.

The sound quality offered by the Meze Alba's is really impressive considering the asking price, the
overall performance punches well above it's price tag, it's a well balanced and also technical performance
very detailed and yet very musical, the treble is well extended without being harsh or sibilant,
the bass is very satisfying without being to much boosted, the soundstage is excellent too.

Comparing against the ultra low budget Iems in my collection like the 7Hz Salnotes & KZ ZS 10 Pro
there is clearly a step up and more in terms of sound performance and built as it should be as they
are also costing several times more. Now where things got really interesting was the comparison against
the much more expensive Thieaudio Hype 2, i prefer the overall performance of the Alba's, to my ears
the later have the more enjoyable sound signature, i found them to be more musical and also slightly
more detailed while the Hype 2 having a slight edge in terms of bass performance.

Last Word: The Meze team have done something special here, the overall package delivered is quiet
amazing, nice build, great versatility & performance at an affordable price what more could you ask
for...
